Rev. Jeff Brown, OLF "Brother Jeff"

Brother Jeff was called to serve as pastor with First Lutheran in 2023. Brother Jeff is married to Rev. Caitlin Jensen-Brown, is a life professed member of the Order of Lutheran Franciscans (the first religious order in the ELCA), and is a trained spiritual director for folks looking for guidance in their faith life.

​Peoples Church is a multicultural and an indigenous ministry of the ELCA. Peoples Church strives to provide a sanctuary for prayerful worship within a respectful and welcoming environment and to meet the spiritual needs of parishioners and community using Christian values while respecting the ‘One God with Many Names.’ Peoples Church exists to help serve not only the spiritual needs but basic living needs of many who would go without.

ELCA MISSIONARIES

Patrick & Jackie Bencke (Kumamoto, Japan)
First Lutheran is a congregational sponsor of ELCA missionaries, Patrick and Jackie Bencke. They have been working in Kumamoto, Japan since 2006. Patrick serves as a teacher of English at Kyushu Lutheran College and Jackie serves as an assistant for music programs (organists, choir, etc). They also work with the Lutheran church community, serving congregations with music ministries and related support work. ​​
